I think this is interesting because it has a lot of repetitions. I personally love art works from Yayoi Kusama, but she is usually famous for the Dots or objective painting. This paint still has some dots, and I believe the black huge dot is the focal point, then the red dot next to it with bold black frame is the second focal point. They are focal points because they are larger than others and located near the center.
What I feel the most interesting is that she activated negative spaces as faces by drawing face lines. These lines are not even out line because these are not closed, and they are facing many different ways. However, we can recognize each of them as a face, and these are creating visual flow by their repetition.
I know she has many pieces which have much many colors than this one, but even though this piece has only three colors, the coloring is still successful. By use of yellow as back ground, red comes forward, and the big black dots feel like a huge hole. It has many repetitions of faces, eyes, and dots, but by changing these colors, the repetitions are not boring or too much. It is balanced.
I also like how she wrapped over some colors by other colors. It makes some visual color mixing when you see this paint from far. Also, she controlled some value by wrapping colors. For example, black on red is more light and saturated than black underneath. Then, I really can feel this paint is on her style.
From NY to HongKong, the flight took almost 15 hours.
I really hate the long flight make me stuck in my seat.
At first, I found a movie that I wanted see but I didn’t check.
The movie was disney movie, and I also found Tangled, that also I’ve never watched.
I watched 3 more movies after all. One of them was Japanese TV drama.
After I finished two movies, I started looking for some music, and I found some Japanese new songs. I also listened to my iPod.
So, basically, I watched movies and listened music, or slept.
My movie list was;
- Into the Woods
- ST (Japanese)
- Night Museum #3
- Queen and the Country (I’m not quite sure about this title)
Since my flight was at night, I could also enjoy the landscape of NewYork City, and Vancouver.
For me, the sun rise as if the sun followed our plain was also making amazing view.
I’m going back to Japan for the summer vacation.
In my trip, I need to stop by HongKong to transfer.
I took a plain at 10p.m. on 24th, then now I just arrived HongKong on 26th in early morning!
I feel like I just missed 2 days while I’m in the sky. lol
But the view from the plain was so nice through night and the sun rise.
Unfortunately, I can’t leave the airport this time, but I really want to visit here someday!
Because I saw the nice night view of HongKong last time, and I can’t forget that.
I’m just done with my work for my digital imaging class including case study.
So I just put my works above. About details, please check each pages independently.
I just found a really interesting site by surfing the internet.
Colossal is an artistic website introducing many artworks from different types.
Even just scrolling the window, you can see a lot of artworks, and enjoy them.
Some of them are visually joyful, but others are sometimes really thoughtful and creative.
So, if you have time, check them up 🙂
Today is Father’s Day!💖💖
There is also father’s day in Japan, so I text my dad to say thank you for his support with some picture.
I also told that I’ll get to Japan on 26th, and asked if he wants something American.
But there is a 13 hours time difference between Japan and the U.S.
I sent message in the morning, when he must being asleep. Then I just got reply from him at 6:40 p.m., he might have just woke up. lol
He said “I don’t want souvenirs. What time will you arrive? ”
He doesn’t care father’s Day. lol
As you know, It’s already summer! ✨✨
I was going to buy new sandals from Birkenstock/ Arizona for this summer.
When I check this online, they were mostly $100 : (
But when I saw them on some Japanese website, the price was like ¥8,000
now, exchange rate is ¥122.8 = $1
So, it’s going to be $65 in Japan!
I don’t know that was true or not, but I was surprised the fact i can get them cheaper in Japan!! lol
I’m pretty sure that I’m going to get them in Japan💖💖
